Hi, my name is Maria.  The topic I’m going to talk about is KIPP Sunshine Peak Academy.  KIPP stands for Knowledge is Power Program and came to Denver in 2002.  So the school is not that old. Our motto is “Work Hard, Be Nice.”  KIPP didn’t used to be on Tejon Street.  It used to be near the Broncos Stadium.  But they moved it to a neighborhood where a plethora of people would need it.  These kids are the first 5th graders since the school was built.  One thing we always do every year is have a carnival. The teachers really want to make sure we succeed.  We are always at school, from 7:25 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, and four hours on Saturday.
