My name is Leslie and when I think about Huston Lake Park in Athmar Park I think about birthdays and all of the presents, cakes, and people. The reason I think about birthdays is that I celebrated my 11th birthday there and it was the best. I chose it because it is a great place to celebrate birthdays and is close to my house. The park is big and is one of the main points in the city. Huston Lake Park was created from swampland. The lake used to be known as Frenchie’s Lake. People used to ice skate and swim in the lake. If there were no parks we would have very little place to play. I chose this topic because at Huston Lake Park I get to have fun and spend time with my cousins. Huston Lake Park is a fun place to play and I am really glad I live so close to it. It is My Community, My Colorado.
